According to Fishfarmingexpert, data from the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) shows that Norway's farmed salmon export value and volume in July rose year‑on‑year by 16% and 10% respectively.
In July, exports reached 11.6 billion Norwegian kroner in value and 147,891 tonnes in volume. Poland, China and the Netherlands were the main export destinations.
Exports of fresh whole‑salmon increased by 12% to nearly 123,000 tonnes, with prices climbing 8% year‑on‑year to 71.48 Norwegian kroner per kilogram.
Norway’s farmed salmon exports to China stood at 12,464 tonnes worth 1 billion Norwegian kroner in July, representing year‑on‑year growth of 27% and 37% respectively. The cumulative export volume to China in the first seven months of this year hit 75,800 tonnes, valued at 5.6 billion Norwegian kroner.
Norway exported 8,432 tonnes of trout worth 692 million Norwegian kroner in July. Export volume fell by 10% year‑on‑year. Exports to Poland amounted to 1,988 tonnes, surging 182% year‑on‑year, with an export value of 103 million Norwegian kroner, a 221% increase.
In July, Norway’s exports of fresh farmed and wild cod totalled 2,189 tonnes worth 191 million Norwegian kroner, rising 7% and 34% year‑on‑year respectively.
Exports of fresh wild cod dropped 47% to 674 tonnes, and export value decreased by 34% to 59 million Norwegian kroner.
Exports of fresh farmed cod jumped 96% to 1,514 tonnes, and export value rose 147% to 132 million Norwegian kroner.
Farmed cod accounted for 69% of the export value of fresh cod.
