Exportquilsa has made an appearance for seven consecutive years, with home‑returning entrepreneurship deepening China‑Ecuador aquatic product trade cooperation

From June 12 to 14, the 18th China (Fuzhou) International Seafood & Fisheries Expo (FIFE) take place at the Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center in Fuzhou. Ecuadorian white‑shrimp exporter Youxin (Exportquilsa) returned for its seventh straight appearance at FIFE and held an opening ribbon‑cutting ceremony on the show’s first day.

The event was attended by Chinese and foreign guests including Chen Shihai, Chairman of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Lin Zhiliang, Vice‑Chairman of Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); and Jorge Cevallos, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador in China. Maria Lissette Alan, Executive Director of the Ecuador‑China Chamber of Commerce, delivered remarks via video.

During the ceremony, Youxin (Exportquilsa) held exchanges with multiple domestic aquatic‑product supply‑chain firms. It conferred honorary titles on selected partners: Model Enterprise for Commercial Cooperation for Optimize Integration Group, Outstanding Team for Nanmei Jiamei Import & Export, Annual Strategic Partner for Zhengzhou Yangguang Aquatic Products, and Shandong Yaorui International, among other recognitions.

A telling example of deepening bilateral aquatic‑product trade between China and Ecuador, Youxin (Exportquilsa) has exhibited at FIFE for seven years running. This year marked its largest‑ever booth footprint and investment. Following the signing and phased implementation of the China‑Ecuador FTA in 2023, tariff reductions and customs‑clearance facilitation have greatly boosted the competitiveness of Ecuadorian white shrimp exported to China, enabling the company to accelerate its expansion into the Chinese market.

Behind its participation lies a story of “home‑coming industrial investment”. In 2024, Lin Zhiliang — then Vice‑Mayor of Fuzhou and now Vice‑Chairman of Fuzhou Municipal CPPCC — led a delegation to attend the International Boston Seafood Show in Barcelona, Spain, and extended an invitation to Youxin (Exportquilsa) to set up business in Fuzhou. The company accepted the invitation and has formally registered a local entity in Fuzhou. Its goals are to engage Chinese clients more efficiently, build a bridge for two‑way China‑Ecuador investment in fisheries, secure stable supplies of Ecuadorian white shrimp for China, and welcome Fujian enterprises to invest in shrimp farming, seafood processing and cold‑chain infrastructure projects in Ecuador.

Throughout FIFE, the Youxin (Exportquilsa) stand hosted tasting sessions and networking events open to trade buyers and the general public, showcasing Ecuadorian white‑shrimp products. Company representatives stated that its Fuzhou‑based presence will further drive in‑depth integration of China‑Ecuador aquatic supply chains.
